Special Education Services
Special Education programs within Boston Renaissance Charter Public School are designed to ensure that eligible children receive a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.
Boston Renaissance Charter Public School is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to make solid and meaningful education. Our staff work together to share resources, create an atmosphere where children remain our central focus; feeling safe and challenged intellectually, with the ultimate goal that a self-assured, respectful, honest, responsible, and compassionate young adult will develop and generalize the skills they need for future independence.
Boston Renaissance Charter Public School maintains a continuum of services for eligible students with special needs. Services include modifications and accommodations provided within the general education classroom to support children with special needs in general education, specialized instruction in special education classrooms, substantially separate special education programs, and related services. Related services include speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy, psychological evaluation, assistive technology, specialized consultation, behavioral supports, and counseling.
SEPAC
The BRCPS SEPAC is a volunteer group of parents/guardians who care about special education. We gather to share the experiences we need to become empowered participants in our children’s education. Our combined voices help make sure that parents’ priorities are front and center on our school district’s agenda.
If you are not familiar with the Boston Renaissance Special Education Parent Advisory Council, please consider joining us! The Dedham SEPAC can help parents and guardians have the tools they need to be successful advocates for their children. Complete our Volunteer form to get additional information!
Knowing your parental rights is critical in engaging within the IEP process. Each year and prior to any IEP meeting, your parental rights will be sent via the special education team chair. You can also access your parental rights through the MA Department of Education Website.
