Parents of Renaissance
Parents of Renaissance is a volunteer committee
of parents & guardians of Renaissance students.
Parents of Renaissance (POR) is a volunteer group of parents/guardians of Renaissance students. The committee holds INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS, runs FUNDRAISERS, and produces FAMILY EVENTS throughout the year. All parents and guardians are welcome to join the POR at any time.
The POR is led by the POR Executive Committee. All POR projects and initiatives are developed and led by the Executive Committee in collaboration with BRCPS Family Engagement Coordinator, Mrs. Tamairi Rivera. Parents interested in joining the committee may nominate themselves, or be nominated by others, and new members are elected by existing members each school year.
The Committee organizes information sessions each year to provide the parents and guardians of students with information on what is happening at the school, as well as out-of-school time opportunities and programs.
The Committee also organizes fundraisers, which help fund the school’s family engagement efforts, and encourages every family to participate in at least one fundraising drive. We also invite parents to join planning committees for events, or other committees that may be formed, as a means of increasing and enhancing family involvement at the school.
In addition to family engagement initiatives, the Family Engagement Coordinator is available to provide information to families about community resources and out-of-school programs and learning opportunities for students. She will also send out emails and hard copy correspondence in student backpacks to keep parents and family members informed about what is happening in the school.
POR meetings are open to all parents, guardians, and adult caretakers and loved ones of BRCPS students. Please check the website homepage under Calendar to see dates and times for POR meetings.
