Parents of Renaissance (POR) is a volunteer committee of parents/guardians of Renaissance students, elected by existing members. All POR projects and initiatives are developed and led by the Executive Committee, in collaboration with the BRCPS Family Liaison, Mrs. Alisa Muhammad.

The Committee organizes information sessions each year to provide the parents and guardians of students with information on what is happening at the school, as well as the many out-of-school programs and learning opportunities that are available to them in the Boston area.

The Committee also organizes fundraisers, which help fund the school’s family engagement efforts.

The POR Executive Committee requests that every parent join a fundraising drive, the Family Events committee, or other committees that may be formed as a means of increasing and enhancing family involvement at the school.

In addition to family engagement initiatives, the Family Liaison is available to provide information to families about community resources and out-of-school programs and learning opportunities for students. The Liaison will also send out emails and hard copy correspondence in student backpacks to keep parents and family members informed about what is happening in the school.

POR meetings are open to all parents, guardians, and adult caretakers and loved ones of BRCPS students. Please check the website homepage under Calendar to see dates and times for POR meetings.
